Position description:  This position will study traffic at a different intersection each day, Monday through Thursday. The majority of the studies are conducted in three shifts: 7:00 a.m. to 9 a.m., 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 3:00 p.m. to 6 p.m. Several continuous 24 hour special studies are conducted throughout the summer. A detailed map of the intersection and surrounding area showing traffic generators and other features is drawn by the employee. Vehicles are provided during the work week. A significant portion of the work will be in the southwestern quadrant of Iowa.

Statewide, overnight travel from Sunday afternoons through Friday mornings is required. 

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old at the time of employment and possess a valid driver’s license in the United States.
  • Employees are reimbursed for eligible incurred expenses for lodging and meals.
  • Position Duration:  May 23 – mid-August
  • Salary:  $13.07/hr
